Lodging

Morning Star Ranch can provide historic, rustic stone cabins with accommodations for up to eight people. Relax in the evenings around the campfire with family and/or friends.

Airport and Transportation

Most of our guests arrive in their own vehicles. However, Airport pickup is typically available from DFW or Waco. Private or charter flights can land at either the Hamilton, TX airport (15 miles south of the ranch) or the Stephenville airport (20 miles northwest of the ranch). Your guide will handle transportation from the motel to and from the ranch.

Hico is located at the intersection of Hwy 6 and Hwy 281, in Hamilton County. We are approximately 60 miles west of Waco, TX and about 2 hours SW of Dallas. Abilene, TX is about 2 hours to our West. www.hico-tx.com has super directional help from every direction.

Meals and Beverages

As our guest, your evening meal will be prepared by our own Cowboy Chefs and served around the campfire. Don’t forget to let us know your favorite beverages.

Gratuity

Complimentary tips to your guides are not required, but are always kindly appreciated.

Wheel Chair Accessible Blinds

As of the 2004 season, a specially constructed Wheel chair accessible blind will be available. We will produce transport to and from the blind, to the harvested deer, and to location of the field dressing by a 4-Wheel Drive, all electric Bad Boy Buggy.

Unfortunately at this time the Ranch does not have special over-night wheel chair accessible lodging, but 20 miles down the road in Stephenville there are ADA accessible Hotels. Best Western (254-968-2114), Holiday Inn of Stephenville (254-968-5256), Comfort Inn (254-965-7162), and Days Inn (254-968-3392) are four hotels that have ADA accommodations.
